Alexey Vostokov has served as Polyus’ Chief Executive Officer since April 2022. Under his leadership, Polyus, the world's fourth-largest gold mining company by production volume, has set ambitious climate goals, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. In 2022, the company outlined its Climate Strategy, pledging to reduce its carbon footprint by 40-50% in 2032 compared to 2020 levels. Notably, Polyus became the first major global gold miner to fully power its operations with renewable energy.
Mr Vostokov joined Polyus in 2014 and has held various executive roles within the company. His tenure includes involvement in several significant transactions, such as the acquisition of the Sukhoi Log deposit, which boasts 40 million ounces of gold reserves.
