Mark Bristow

President and Chief Executive Officer
Barrick Gold Corporation
Mark Bristow

Mark was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Barrick in January 2019. He was previously the chief executive of Randgold Resources, the company he built from a small Africa-focused exploration business into one of the industry's most profitable and best managed gold miners. Mark played a pivotal role in promoting the emergence of a sustainable mining industry in Africa and has a proven track record of delivering significant shareholder value. Following the merger of Barrick and Randgold in 2019, Mark restructured and restrategised Barrick, and within months was the prime mover in the combination of the Nevada assets of Barrick and Newmont, creating the world's single largest gold mining complex, Nevada Gold Mines, majority-owned and operated by Barrick. Mark has held board positions at a number of global gold mining companies and earned a Doctorate degree in geology from Natal University in South Africa.
