Nicolas Burr is the CEO of CAP SA an Industrial and Mining conglomerate with four business units: Irons Ore Mining, Steel Production, Steel Solutions and Infrastructure with a turn-over of around 3 billion. From 2020 to 2022 he served as VP of the Efficiency and Productivity Division at Banco de Chile, a new team aimed at accelerating digital transformation and gaining further efficiencies in a competitive industry.
From 2015 to 2020 he was the CFO and a member of the Executive Committee of Hapag-Lloyd and a director of United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) in Hamburg, Germany. Before that, from 2009 to 2012, he was the Chief Finance and Administration Officer at Madeco and on the board of Madeco Mills and Indalum SA. Prior to that, he had the same position at Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores from 2012 to early 2015. From 2000 to 2009 he held numerous executive positions at Arauco in Chile and Argentina. He holds a degree in industrial engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management and a Master in Public Administration from the London School of Economics.
