Mr. Steele Chaochun LI is Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of CMOC Group Limited (“CMOC”). Mr. Li joined CMOC as vice chairman in January 2007 and later on served as Chairman & CEO from January 2014 to June 2020. Mr. Li has extensive experience in investment, corporate finance and capital market. During his service, CMOC achieved numerous milestones, such as its listing on both A-share and H-share markets and RMB18 billion equity-issuance, as well as a number of major transactions to acquire the copper and gold asset in Australia, the niobium and phosphate assets in Brazil, the copper and cobalt assets in the DRC, and IXM, the global metal trading business headquartered in Geneva.
Before joined CMOC, Mr. Li was a managing director of investment department of Cathay Fortune Corporation, the controlling shareholder of CMOC. Before that, Mr. Li worked for HSBC China HQ and Arthur Andersen Shanghai.
Mr. Li holds a bachelor’s degree in international business law from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
